If you haven’t seen Governor Desantis declared a state of emergency ahead of the tropical storm / hurricane making landfall of Florida. Saturday morning it will be impacting KHST. We will be rolling out temporary guidance for conducting medivac operations during this time. Please be on the lookout for these temporary changes. Thanks for your passion and support.
Temporary Guidance for the upcoming tropical storm impacting Florida. During the storm we will be limiting flight operations to Day VFR/IFR flight plans and Night IFR flights plans only. No Night Time VFR shall be conducted. Along with this crews shall remain 20 miles away from any storm or precipitation if you are VFR and 10 miles if you are on a IFR flight plan. Reminder to be conducting flights IAW your POH recommended crosswind landings. The king air and rotary wing aircraft are the only aircraft to be flown when the winds are above 30knots. We also just got word that vPeak Medevac will be assisting USCG and USSOCOM with SAR operations and Critical patient transports of victims of the storm. This AOR will include the Bahamas, and all areas affected by the storm in the US. Be on the lookout for flights that are populating because some are time critical and have to be conducted within a set amount of time. Hales can knock out a few Check Flights for the 208 and King Air today if anyone would like. King will also be doing Check flights for rotor guys who want to fly the E135 or the E145 during this time. Please reach out to them for questions about eligibility of airframes. As of 08/02/2024 12:00PM all of vPeak Medevac is on high alert and will be contacted to conduct flights as they come down the pipeline.
